1999 Grand Banks Eastbay 38HX – Classic Downeast Cruiser with Outstanding Potential
PEARL is a classic 1999 Grand Banks Eastbay 38HX that showcases the timeless lines, respected hull design, and quality craftsmanship that have made the Eastbay series a favorite among knowledgeable boaters. Combining traditional Downeast styling with proven performance and comfortable accommodations, PEARL offers an exceptional platform for coastal cruising.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 3208 TA 375hp diesel engines, PEARL benefits from significant recent mechanical servicing and major component replacements. The Caterpillar 3208 is a well-known and proven marine powerplant, providing a strong match for the performance characteristics of the Eastbay 38HX.
The helm features a traditional, functional layout with straightforward controls and excellent visibility. Equipment includes autopilot, throttle synchronizer, and a Bennett Auto Tab Control system, providing the essentials for comfortable and confident operation underway.
Below deck, PEARL retains the warm and inviting character for which Grand Banks interiors are known, highlighted by classic teak joinery throughout. The U-shaped galley features Corian countertops, a double sink, countertop-access refrigerator, separate dry storage, and an adjacent freezer. A three-burner gas cooktop, convection microwave, and generous overhead storage complete the well-appointed galley.
Opposite the galley, a spacious wraparound settee provides comfortable seating for relaxing or entertaining and converts to an additional berth when needed. The vessel also features a full head with shower, toilet, and sink.
Forward, the primary stateroom offers approximately 6’6″ of headroom at the centerline, creating a comfortable and inviting space. An overhead hatch provides natural light and ventilation, while the berth incorporates a removable filler cushion for additional flexibility.
With her unmistakable Eastbay profile, respected Grand Banks pedigree, proven Caterpillar diesel power, and beautifully crafted interior, PEARL represents an excellent opportunity to own one of the most recognizable Downeast-style cruisers of her era. She combines classic styling, comfortable accommodations, and capable performance in a package equally suited for weekend cruising or extended time on the water.
