THE STORY BEHIND GREENLINE YACHTS
Founding and Early Innovations
Greenline Yachts was established in 2008 in Slovenia by a team of passionate marine engineers and designers at J&J Design, led by Jernej and Japec Jakopin. The company was born from a vision to create environmentally friendly yachts that combine cutting-edge technology with timeless design.
Introduction of the Hybrid Concept
In 2009, Greenline launched its first hybrid yacht, the Greenline 33 Hybrid, at the Düsseldorf Boat Show. It was a groundbreaking vessel, featuring a parallel hybrid propulsion system. This innovation allowed the yacht to switch seamlessly between electric and diesel power, reducing emissions, noise, and fuel consumption. The model gained significant attention and won multiple awards, including the "European Powerboat of the Year" in 2010.
Expansion of the Fleet
Building on the success of the Greenline 33, the company expanded its fleet to include larger models, such as the Greenline 40 and 48. These yachts continued to emphasize sustainability while incorporating luxurious features and spacious designs for modern boating enthusiasts.
Commitment to Sustainability
Greenline Yachts introduced innovative features like solar panels integrated into the roof, energy-efficient hull designs, and lithium battery systems. This commitment to eco-friendly technology established Greenline as a leader in sustainable boating, earning recognition worldwide.
Acquisition by SVP Yachts
In 2015, Greenline Hybrid Yachts became part of SVP Yachts, which helped the brand grow further and modernize its production facilities. The acquisition strengthened Greenline's ability to innovate and meet the demands of the global yachting market.
