The brand takes its name from Cape Hatteras, in North Carolina, where converging currents create some of the roughest seas on the east coast of North America. Established in 1960, Hatteras has always built fiberglass boats. The original founder was an avid marlin fisherman, and a majority of Hatteras yachts have been sport fishermen and convertibles. The company builds to one of the highest standards in the marine industry, and Hatteras Yachts are sought after for their luxurious attention to comfort and cosmetic detail as much as for their legendary seaworthiness.
