Nordhavn’s founders began business in the 1970’s, building and importing Transpac 50 sailboats. The company’s first power yacht, the Nordhavn 46, debuted in 1988. While not initially embraced by some of the established critics and publications, the vessel was quickly adopted by fans of Robert Beebe’s “Voyaging Under Power” book and enthusiastically supported by yachtsmen dreaming of making long distance cruises without relying on sails. In 2000/ 2001 Nordhavn 40 astonished the yachting community by successfully circumnavigating the globe. Nordhavn continues to be well received by the yachting community, currently offering models from 41 – 148 feet.
